One of my many left-handed attempts at Chinese/Japanese calligraphy - have you ever
seen a Zen master writing with his left hand ?
- if indeed you have I would suspect the photographic print had been produced from a reverse negative or reflexion

Today, scientists are using some unusual techniques to try to work out how these moments of creativity - whether big, small or life-changing - come about. They have devised a series of puzzles and brainteasers to draw out our creative behaviour, while the very latest neuroimaging technology means researchers can actually peer inside our brains and witness the creative spark as it happens. What they are discovering could have the power to make every one of us more creative.
" The practice of mindfulness and concentration always brings insight. It can help both
Buddhists and scientists. Insights transmitted by realized practitioners like the Buddhas and bodhisattvas can be a source of inspiration and support for both Buddhist practitioners and scientists, and scientific tests can help Buddhist practitioners understand better and have more confidence in the insight they receive from their ancestral teachers.
It is our belief that in this 21st Century, Buddhism and science can go hand in
hand to promote more insight for us all and bring more liberation, reducing discrimination, separation, fear, anger, and despair in the world."

Zen insight is not our awareness, but being's awareness of itself in us.

insight - power of seeing into and understanding things: imaginative penetration: practical knowledge: enlightenment: a view into anything: awareness of the MIND

- will depend …

LESS on rote and more on reason - LESS on the authority of the few and more on the judgment of many - LESS on compulsion and more on motivation - LESS on external control of people and more on internal discipline.

"ALL-embracing LOVE is the message we get when we take a

deeper look at the latest findings of the sciences. The gist of the

converging insights is that there is an underlying logic that confers

unity and oneness on us, and on all things in the universe. The world

is like a vast hologram, coded by basic patterns that “in-form” the

entire cosmic matrix known as spacetime.

There is nothing entirely random and meaningless in this world;

there are no truly chance events. LIFE itself is not a random

accident. The latest discoveries show that organic macromolecules,

the basic elements of life, are synthesized already in the physical

and chemical evolution of stars even before they emerge and evolve

as biological organisms on some planets ... (Spectral analysis of

comet ISON will no doubt eventually prove this to be the case)

The evolution of life is not a fortuitous event in the world, but

the expression of a coherent logic carried by universal laws."

We recently posted a blog entry celebrating the anniversary of the

Apollo 11 landing on the Moon. Now, just a couple weeks later, we are

preparing for another first: the European Space Agency’s attempt to

orbit and then land on a comet. The Rosetta spacecraft was launched

in 2004 with the ultimate goal of orbiting and landing on comet

67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko. Since the launch, Rosetta has already

flown by asteroid Steins, in 2008, and asteroid 21 Lutetia, in 2010.
