as opposed to THE COSMIC DANCE

which Fritjof Capra described as ... the exploration of the subatomic world in the twentieth century which ... has revealed the intrinsically dynamic nature of matter ... and has shown that the constituents of atoms, the subatomic particles, are dynamic patterns which do not exist as isolated entities, but as integral parts of an inseperable network of interactions ...

which involve a ceaseless flow of energy manifesting itself as the exchange of particles; a dynamic interplay in which particles are created and destroyed without end in a continual variation of energy patterns ...

particle interactions which give rise to stable structures which build up the material world, which again do not remain static, but oscillate in rythmic movements ... indicating that THE WHOLE UNIVERSE is thus engaged in endless motion and activity; in a continual COSMIC DANCE of ENERGY ...

will no doubt come to fuition when the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is switched on this summer at CERN in Switzerland ... and Fritjof Capra's question as to whether QUARK SYMMETRIES could become A NEW KOAN ... will BE answered.

William Leith's "Journey to the centre of the earth article" prepares US ALL for an experiment that could unlock the secrets of the universe ... and in so doing ... ABSOLUTELY CONFIRM ... as a result of the rational & logical thinking of applied scientific experiment ... Fritjof Capra's statement of 1975
that ...

"On this journey to the world of the infinitely small, the most important step, from a PHILOSOPHICAL point of view, was the first one: the step into the world of atoms. Probing inside the atom and investigating its structure, science transcended the limits of our sensory imagination. From this point on, it could no longer rely with absolute certainty on logic and common sense. Atomic physics provided the scientists with
the first glimpses of the essential nature of things. Like the mystics, physicists were now dealing with a non-sensory experience of reality and, like the mystics, they had to face the paradoxical aspects of this experience. From then on therefore, the models and images of modern physics became akin to those of Eastern philosophy."

It is also likely, in the context of Alan's statement that ... "the SOUL, indeed, IS visible by science, if they knew how and where to look" ... that the deliberation of the results of this LHC scientific experiment, will confirm Alan's zBlog proposal that...

"the base of the material world is immaterial consciousness and that we are concentrations of the consciousness of the universe, and therefore concentrations of light, and concentrations of microwave energy."

What better way to establish the conclusion of this post, than to utilise William Leith's own conclusion to his Telegraph Magazine Article ...

We have a quick chat about Tim Berners-Lee. 'Thanks to him, you can look him up on the internet,' Grey grins. Grey is poised to process the data from the pictures that Harnew and Collins and Barney and many others will take, once Lamont and his colleagues have flicked the switch. And it's important data. Physicists absolutely need to find it. This is because, to put it bluntly, they do not understand why things are things. It's absolutely infuriating. The truth is out there, if only they could locate it.

'It'll be a relief for them to find [the boson],' Peter Higgs said recently. 'If I'm wrong, I'll be rather sad.'

If he is wrong, the scientists at CERN are confident that they won't have spent $8 billion for nothing.

'The LHC is guaranteed a result,' James Gillies says. 'Either we find the Higgs boson, or we find something else that does the same job...

We know the Standard Model is not the whole story, but we also know it isn't wrong
... IT works too well. IT IS simply incomplete.

Fritjof Capra wrote in his 25th Anniversary Edition Epilogue ....

I believe that the world view implied by modern physics is inconsistent with our present society, which does NOT reflect the HARMONIOUS INTERRELATEDNESS we observe in nature.

To achieve such a state of DYNAMIC BALANCE, a radically different SOCIAL and ECONOMIC STRUCTURE will be needed: a cultural revolution in the true sense of the word.

The survival of our whole civilisation may depend on whether we can bring about such change. IT WILL DEPEND, ultimately, on our ability to adopt some of the YIN attitudes of EASTERN mysticism; to experience the wholeness of nature and the

ART of LIVING with it in HARMONY.

"Our rich cosmological and biological heritage is giving birth to a new vision of the spiritual impulse, one that incorporates the evolutionary principles at the heart of living systems. The more we understand about the developmental processes of life, including our own lives, the more we can develop solutions appropriate to the complex, multidimensional human world that we live in.

We can hope that those solutions may be more effective at leading us toward a lasting and comprehensive peace, but that does not mean that peace itself will be the ultimate goal of our efforts. “If people try to put peace ahead of evolution, they won't get either,” says Michael Nagler. “If they put evolution ahead of peace, they'll get both.” - Carter Phipps

balance & harmony must be [re]established

to bring Change to the World before

WE LEARN "how to truly dance" because -

WE ARE the CREATORS of THE DANCE

AS WELL as THE DANCERS -

dancing the dream of grace

The beauty about the Tao of Physics IS its reference, throughout, to EASTERN philosophy not just Hinduism or Buddhism or Taoism or other Chinese thought but an amalagam of the collective mindest of ALL Eastern religions and more, which IS IN FACT

THE practice of DOING which IS ZEN. A practice of DOING which is based, in ALL humility, on selfless caring and compassionate love for the ONE SOUL, which constitutes the collective consciousness of the entirety of the multiverse of parallel universes, of which our own planetry universe is just one.

What the truth of reality actually means to one is “locked within one” until one is able to
communicate that truth, in words, music or other manifestation of the
art of DOING, such that the receiver receives that truth as a clone of
the truth of reality.

To learn about the truth of reality is NOT to YET, necessarily, understand the truth of reality because success has many parents and for any one individual component of the ONE • To KNOW and NOT to DO … is NOT YET to KNOW.

In the context that … Big Bang Atom Smashing could UNCOVER THE TRUTH
it is interesting to consider what the ”experts” are saying and … what we will find ?

CERN Council looks forward to LHC start-up … we can only hope, trust and even pray that the Scientific Policy Committee's review of the NEW LSAG REPORT, concerning magnetic monopoles, vacuum bubbles, stangelets and black holes, has absolutely addressed the
BIG PICTURE and in so doing not fallen into the normal scientific mode, which this time round could see the ”BIG PICTURE GENIE escaping from the BIG PICTURE BOTTLE !

The LHC is indeed a fascinating project. When I was 10 one of my first books in popular science was “Atoms today and tomorrow”

Whats going on in Atom Physics then -since the beginnings of miodern Atom Theory with Planck et al. is BIG. I am awaiting new synthesis of
quantum theory, general relativity theory and theory of gravitation in
my lifetime.

Cultural phenomenologist Jean Gebser -one of integral pioneers - demonstrated in his classic “the ever present
origin” decades ago how developments in physics, literature, arts and
science, in medicine and music, pyschoanalysis and social sciences
co-incided in few decades.

He explored the primarily the lower left quadrant. And what a rich harvesting!

Thanks for this thread, Michael!

Perhaps, as we wait for the LHC to come back online (after a single bad
solder joint has cost the European taxpayer $21 million
), Tit’s time to
do just that. We should take a risk and canvass public opinion about
where society wants science to go - then act on the results.
This will
almost certainly hurt, but it will also safeguard the future of
scientific research. Besides, whose science is it anyway?

hi michael. I am reading this really fascinating book called The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life by Drunvalo Melchizedek . I was curious if
you have ever read it.

NO I haven’t read Drunvalo Melchizedek’s ”conclusions’ on the Flower of Life but AS I AM sure your are ALL aware, my connexion with Leonardo Da Vinci has long since established my in depth understanding of the two dimensional perspective of the hexagonal properties of LIFE and IT’s integral connectedness with the three dimensional model of quintessential change.

Let me know your own conclusions when you have finished the book … in the context of George Baker’s words …

NOT in the poet is the poem or even the poetry. IT IS hiding behind a broken wall or a geranium or walking around pretending to be blind seeking a home that it cannot find.

I read your links. I will let you know my conclusions. there are two volumes and I am only on the first. I do find it all a little confusing
though. I love reading about the golden section and all of that but in
the end I don’t really understand it. the hexagonal properties of life.
what exactly does that mean? the Pentagon.the tetrahedron. These
shapes. It is fascinating but I don’t really understand what it is all
means and maybe I am not supposed to understand per say. some times it
frustrates me though. It is like it is on the tip of my tongue but I
can’t quite grasp it. LIke trying to remember something but it remains
elusive.

AS George Bataille once wrote … There is NO THING in religion which cannot be found in poetry … and I would say that the poetry of life IS the poetry of three dimensional mathematical models and their underlying algorithms, in the context of their application to every aspect of the nature of the KOSMIC DANCE.

The evolutionary spirals are indeed dancing all over the planet…
in celebration, no doubt, of the fact that many before us have shown the way and in so doing passed the torch of LIFE to the prodigies of the DNA of the ONE.

A Cosmic Orientation

The evolution of our consciousness and our culture is an awe-inspiring task, but I believe it is possible for anyone who cares deeply enough about it. Those of us who feel compelled by the evolutionary impulse must be willing to embrace the dramatic scale at which the life-process is operating. When we awaken to the fact that we are part of a fourteen-billion-year process that is going somewhere, we begin to see our own day-to-day, moment-to-moment choices in a literally cosmic context. We see our own presence here on earth in relationship to the evolution of the cosmos itself.

THIS cosmic orientation is essential - if we are to succeed in taking the next evolutionary step.

If our orientation is not that big, we are always going to fall short. Our habitual ways of thinking are just too small-minded, petty, and personal. In order for authentic, profound, and meaningful transformation to occur, we have to make the effort to see all of our choices in this cosmic context. And that, in itself, is evolution. That's what our next step is: awakening to a cosmic orientation to being a human being, here on earth, right now.

"Everybody knows that Leonardo da Vinci was a brilliant mechanical engineer, but his view of the world was not mechanistic. And that's a very subtle point…he saw mechanics in service of the science of life, and of course in subsequent centuries we had exactly the opposite. The science of life was subsumed under mechanics and we had a mechanistic view of the human organism and nature."
