compassion, collaboration & cooperation iN transistion

This was written on Feb. 25 2006 at a time when I had cancer of the tongue with possible metastasis elsewhere and had decided, in line with my philosophical understanding, to either cure it myself or succumb to it.

"Not surprisingly, I am detached from what is happening to my body. Yes, I do feel the pain and discomfort but there is no emotional reaction to them or the situation as such. Taking the analogy in "The Milk Is White" of the body being as a vehicle, it is now as if I were driving my car which has developed rust that is weakening its structure. As the driver, I am aware of the effect of this but I accept it for what it is and what it means, without emotional reaction - that is, with detachment. When the car falls apart I will scrap it and get a new one - one more suitable to me, should that be necessary."
