THE NORWEGIAN PEOPLE DEEPLY BELIEVE that the signing of THE ATLANTIC PACT [IS] in[DEED] AN EVENT WHICH MAY DECISIVELY INFLUENCE THE COURSE OF HISTORY and HASTEN THE DAY WHEN ALL NATIONS CAN WORK TOGETHER FOR PEACE AND FREEDOM.

I well remember learning about this event at Grammar School, and [BE]ing made aware of both the geographical and historical significance of Norway as well as the ultimate significant importance of the so-called Shetland Bus,  
that my maternal grandfather first mentioned to me, in a conversation about his own personal Scapa Flow First World War experience.
