of my first blog @zaadz I am reminded - as I post my 150th zBlog - that the first half of the last cycle of the moon before the Summer Solstice, here in Great Britain & NI, has culminated in ... the farce which the G8 has become - with the likes of Bono & Geldof having little sustainable effect on the “global machine” of politics, science & religion.

A global machine which is undoubtedly in CRISIS …. because of IT's own obsessive adherence to sophisticated self-interest, arrogance & greed. A global machine which was originally established from a French elitist perspective as the G6 ( G6 would have been G7, G7 would have been G8 & G8 would have been G9 had the “inner sanctum” acknowledged the global significance of Brazil ) - and is now further 'strengthened' as a result of Nicolas Sarkozy's election as President & the apparent confirmation, over this week-end, of a resounding right majority - which will encourage the French to sit with renewed vigour around the Summer Solstice high-table that will be the next EU summit.

Sarkozy will rub shoulder to shoulder with Angela Merkel - & Tony Blair will no doubt, after his G8 Africa/AIDS snub, join in with the discussions of their dreams of a future of integrated harmony as a result of an agreement to implement the proposed "mini-constitution" that will see the EU taking control of the legal executive of ALL the member states without any acknowledgement of the fact that both the French & Dutch peoples voted against such action and the promised Blair referendum has been withdrawn.

So much for all the rhetoriic of a British Government that says it wants to re-connect with a disillusioned electorate as Blair is seemingly destined to sign away independence of speech to the 'European Division' of the global machine just days before he leaves his office as PM for good - to hand over to a Prime Minister in waiting who has, as yet, NOT revealed his agenda to the electorate.

Mr. Blair's own personal sophisticated self-interest, arrogance & greed, can be no better demonstrated than during his recent press-conference to berate the "feral press pack" - no doubt another nail in the coffin of the process of making Parliament NOT subject to the freedom of information act - to which Andrew Gimson's Telegraph "Sketch" response was :-

The Prime Minister proceeded to ask if it was "becoming worse", and answered "yes", with the result that "we are all being dragged down".

We fear some people may accuse Mr Blair of generalising from his own experience. His own press has got worse, so he thinks the press as a whole has got worse.

The alternative possibility - that his over-optimistic attempt to bring democracy to Mesopotamia and his greedy insistence on staying in power in London have led people to detest him - is too horrible to contemplate.

The split ‘within’ the global machine - with respect to climate change - sees one half of the camp proposing “carbon swapping” to alleviate the consciences of the ruling classes as they continue to consume & squander mother earth's resources without ever actually DOING anything but TALKING or using their ‘brains to control their hands’ to replenish our god-given natural resources - and the other half of the camp “betting” on what undoubtedly will be delivered as major scientific advancements - but for the 'profit' of the few rather than the mutual benefit & advancement of the many.
Meanwhile the split ‘without’ the global machine sees the developing world of China & India in almost total disagreement with either of these two camps within - made increasingly difficult & much worse for many,
by the “global intifada” amongst and between the religious camps of the world - 'united' in their individual and collective inability to address the problems of the day & in desperate need of a guiding LIGHT from elsewhere.

Having expanded my AlphaINDEX to include Martha's 'piece' on her thoughts of interlinking with other people's personal alphaindexes in some way and what people have always got out of categorizing others as “deficient" and the POWER & POWER OVER obtained as such - I was pleased to have read a   Big Issue article - which Martin has recently brought to my attention - entitled Hotspots of Brazil.

Plans for a free multimedia hotspot in Manchester draw their inspiration from Brazil, where the Ponto de Cultura are transforming the lives of people who have never even seen computers before
- writes Eleanor Barlow - following a trip to Brazil by Vicky Sinclair, from the charity Solid Earth, to look at Claudio Prado's open source technology based programme called Bridges of Culture.

This initiative IS absolutely SPOT-ON & it is most appropriate that a nation such as Brazil - who were the next country after the UK to establish the widespread use of video tape recorders - following on from Matsushita's commitment to build, at his own risk, the first manufacturing facilities in Japan to supply the video rental needs of the British public - should potentially provide the template of an interactive multimedia solution to Martha's gordian knot question of

"what is the difference betwen information & knowledge" ...

in the context of learning, learning to learn and the process of understanding the knowledge of wisdom as INSIGHT arises.

NO better initial focus - for the Zion Arts Centre where the pilot will be launched in September - would be than to consider the delivery of an interactive multimedia presentation of the modern day equivalent of Bob Abel’s Guernica project -

in the context of establishing an understanding of why we fight and
the need to communicate the concept of Merchants of Love not Merchants of Death.

Guernica 3D

THIS
Brazilian inspired initiative/project could then be utilised as the “template” for other UK cities & act as a beacon to Europe & the World - in pursuance of our Common Goals to establish -

Claudio Prado, 63 is the leading figure in the Brazilian movement. He was deeply involved in the countercultural movement in 1960's London - he was one
of the organizers of the first Glastonbury Festival, and was involved in the launch of the International Times and of the first format of Time Out. In London he met the musician Gilberto Gil, now Culture Minister of Brazil, with whom he has had a lifetime friendship.

Claudio is now in a unique position, working in a very new frontier between government and media activists running the Digital Culture Department
of the Ministry of Culture of Brazil. He is the man responsible for
Brazil's involvement in international discussions around digital and
open source culture, and all its consequences in IP regulations,
cultural production and identity, creative economy and so on. He is
also responsible for putting all these concepts into practice, through
the Pontos de Cultura (literally, 'Bridges of Culture') project
- 600 grassroots cultural centers spread all around the country that
receive a digital multimedia production infrastructure and take part in
a series of meetings and workshops regarding free and open source
software for multimedia production, open licensing, gift economy and
similar subjects.

Having zBlogged OUR species leaders as BEING in self-interested control of
“A global machine which is undoubtedly in CRISIS” ; some 19 months later our new masters of the globe remain ”in denial” as to their own complicity in the process of bringing the global economy to it’s knees. As Simon Heffer has recently written in The Daily Telegraph

“IT IS ONLY the people who can sort this mess out. The politicians should withdraw, and let us get on with it ”

In the context of this particular zBlog post IS IT NOT ironic , therefore, that the Financial Times has this week published an article entitled …
The Future of human beings is what matters; written by Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, the president of Brazil, as supportive of their Future of Capitalism series; in the context of the West’s [G8] “global mindset” of keeping Brazil out of the equation.

OH were Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s values and principles “mirrored” by our own ”GLORIOUS LEADER” who professed, even before his visit to HIS friends in the USA that he had already saved the world from economic catastrophe.

Roll on Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s attendance at the coming G20 conference in London, he might JUST have some influence on the PIG-HEADED self-interested, arrogance of those who profess to know best …

HOW to solve ALL the problems which our planet NOW faces!

The Speaker has BECOME an embarrassment to the House of Commons, as a result of his inability to deal independently with the MP's expenses debacle; and as Simon Heffer has quoted in his article

“What Parliament needs now is the spirit of Cromwell”

“It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place, which you have dishonoured by your CONTEMPT for ALL VIRTUE, and defiled by your practice of every vice; ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government; ye are a pack of mercenary wretches,
and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage… Is there a
single virtue now remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not
possess? Ye have no more religion than my horse; gold is your god;
which of you have not bartered your conscience for bribes?… Ye are
grown intolerably odious to the whole nation; ye were deputed here BY
THE PEOPLE to get grievances redress'd, and are yourselves gone…

IN the name of GOD, GO!”

THE SECOND COMING

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: a waste of desert sand;
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Wind shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

Gordon Brown -  the man who claimed "to have ended the cycle of boom and bust for the UK" - Didn't he also save the world as well from ALL of its financial woes? - is here again at the penultimate moment of the Euro Crisis expounding the fact that IF the G20 doesn't get its act together to help keep the Euro alive we shall all be faced with potential bailouts for France and Italy as well.

Surely its the founding members of the Euro project - Germany, France and Italy - who should now be realising that the wheels are falling off the charabanc because they chose not to fit tyres to the wheels in the first place.

Comment by Michael Grove on December 17, 2012 at 9:58

... and SURPRISE, SURPRISE - HERE HE IS AGAIN - pontificating about yet something else he knows no more about that any other politician - whilst stuffing money in his back pocket at the expense of those who are in every which way - PAYING for the CONSEQUENCES of his mistakes.

Comment by Michael Grove on December 17, 2012 at 10:08

IF any insight is to arise from the above - it is that as soon as we ALL AWAKEN to the TRUTH there will be no more need for either Priests or Politicians - and no better proof of that statement has been provided than - "FROM A PIONEER IN THE FIELD OF MENTAL HEALTH" and his groundbreaking book on the HEALING POWER OF 'MINDSIGHT' - the capacity for INSIGHT and EMPATHY that allows one, as an integral part of the ONE, to make positive changes in your brain - such that THE MIND is in control of the BRAIN - NOT the BRAIN in control of the MIND.

Comment by Michael Grove on March 26, 2024 at 10:03
... meanwhile At a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing in 2012 on whether the US should accede to the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS-III) the then Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, scoffed at nationalistic fears on the Right of American politics that the UN’s “black helicopters are on the way” – the far Right’s conspiracy theory that the UN is seeking to be a World Government and is gathering military forces to take over Washington. As ludicrous as the fears are, the fact that the Republican Party is influenced by them explains much about US reluctance to join UN efforts to garner international support for protecting global commons such as the deep seabed outside territorial waters.

This reluctance is just one example of an habitual US attitude to global agreements which extends beyond the seas to the world at large and its currently precarious situation; a situation that will be exacerbated if Donald Trump regains the White House in November.

The UN’s efforts, thwarted by the US, to protect the oceans is a worrying example. The UN has been trying for decades to achieve international agreement on the matter. As marine technologies have advanced, making the prospect of deep sea mining a reality, so environmentalists have raised major concerns about the damage this would do to ocean ecosystems.
