The dream of the tiled floor.

Preamble.

In The Milk Is White I wrote in reference to spiritual growth:

What we do as we move forward can be compared to us laying down paving as we absorb and apply various principles and as we shed our negative aspects and attitudes and replace them with new and positive ones. The path itself is, within general parameters, already set down before us but in setting the paving tiles in place by our efforts we are slowly, one by one, consolidating our path and giving it a definition. It may well be that at times we falter or take a step backwards, but the tiles remain in place and give us a firm footing when we tread there again. We never destroy what we have created in this way even if we slide back a long way and return tired and bruised but a lot wiser.

The dream [14.06.17.]

Time: Just before awakening.

Colour: In vivid colour and perfectly clear.

Feeling: Nothing unusual; impressed. Aware that the tiling was complete.

I was standing in a room in the Holyrood "big bungalow" examining and admiring a beautifully tiled floor. The tiling was perfect as also the tiles which were about 100mm square and 25mm thick*, highly glazed and in varying shades of dark red with, around the centre, two concentric circles one each of two shades of blue. The circles were not perfectly defined. Where the wall met the floor there was a concave tile with the tiling extending up the wall about another 100mm.

In my dreams Holyrood was symbolic of my final destination.

* This was intuitive; I could not see this.

Interpretation: This fell into place immediately. I recalled the above extract and realised that my spiritual journey was at an end. The colour red meant new life an the life force.

Sequel - awareness [15.06.17.]

Time: Hypnopompic state flowing into that immediately following.

I unconsciously revisited the dream and contemplated its meaning concluding, emotionlessly and matter of factly, that I had reached the end of the search I embarked upon some seventy four years ago. I was aware that I was without reaction to this and was quite accepting of this as normal! Even now, writing this, I smile at the singular lack of excitement! . . . . . . it simply IS :-)
