THERE ARE ONLY TWO RULES

the journey begins & the journey continues

BUT

to live HAPPILY one must live UNSEEN

Walk gently, leaving tracks only where they can make a difference.

Where no difference can be made, walk without leaving tracks.

Pass through life unseen and invisible, yet affecting change everywhere.

Life as a Conscious Practice

The first step is always awareness. When you are conscious of what you are doing, you can decide whether this is an action or thought pattern you want to practice, or if there’s an alternative you’d rather be good at.

As you go through your day, practice this awareness. It’s the first skill, and it’s the most important one. Be aware, without feeling guilty or angry at yourself, of what you’re doing and thinking. You will forget to to this, but remind yourself. You might wear a rubber band around your wrist, or carry a talisman, or make tally marks on a slip of paper each time you remember.

After ALL is SAID and DONE - as HH The Dalai Lama has so succinctly & eloquently stated -

" THE PURPOSE of our lives IS to BE HAPPY "

Mindfulness

The purpose of mindfulness meditation is not to create some temporary bliss state, but to cultivate a baseline of concentration and equanimity that allows you to meet the challenges of life and feel happier.

How do we know whether or not we can make a difference?  And how do we know that if we made a difference it would be a good difference?  Just wondering :)   Hi Michael!!!

How do we know whether or not we can make a difference?

The honest answer to both of your questions, Martha, IS that WE DON'T - and I can only say that we don't, because WE ALL, understandably, have to live our daily lives tied to a system controlled by those who manipulate us for their own purposes; and it is inevitable that THEY want to maintain the status quo.

As I said in my Chicken or the Egg zBlog - ONE UNITED STATES of EARTH, as a result of leading by the example of building a less fragile ... NEW ORDER ENVIRONMENT of the people, by the people for the people ...

through the collective independence of MIND, SPIRIT and ACTION

The only real hope is surely based on the fact that the collective mindset of the ever increasing minority of those individuals that have already realised that the present system IS absolutely no longer fit for purpose in the context of ALL that is happening with science, religion, politics and nature - IS in its own way formulating an holistic solution comprised of a multitude of disparate sub-solutions.

BTW how is your community building initiative doing?  I was thinking just the other day that the latest scientific proof of the Mother Tree concept would be a good place to start "re-connecting with nature" in the context of establishing an holistic solution of authentically integrated scientific, spiritual and new order political perspectives - and truly actioning a THINK GLOBAL ACT  LOCAL community building project.

JUST BELIEVE IN THE NEED FOR A SHIFT IN BELIEF

In the instant of our first breath, we are infused with the single greatest force in the universe - the power to translate the possibilities of our minds into the reality of our world. To fully awaken our power, however, requires a subtle change in the way we think of ourselves in life, a SHIFT in BELIEF -

What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we

have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.
